Our client needed to understand the users’ needs and also the reactions to the content and style of the tweets.
Respondents took part in a 4-stage process which allowed us to see them using the prototype and discuss their thoughts about it. Initially, they completed a survey about their current Twitter usage and sources of weather. They then spent 10 days using the Twitter prototype when they felt it would be useful. After this, we carried out both a quantitative survey and online qualitative sessions with the users to assess their response.
Results proved to be very useful, highlighting areas where the prototype needed to be improved and helping the client to understand what tone and style of tweeting was appropriate.
